Mastering Your Natural Girl Makeup Routine: From Skin Prep to Final Glow

Finding the right makeup routine isn’t just about products, it’s about understanding your skin and how it responds. Here’s how I approach makeup, from the prep to the final setting spray, and the brands I trust the most.

My Recommended Brands for specific reasons

• Clinique – long lasting formulas for eyeliner, lip liner, powder, spot foundation, and mascara

• Ogee – beautiful foundation, blush, and contour with a natural finish

• Pacifica – versatile eyeshadows in stunning shades

• Thrive – precise liquid liner and creamy lip liner

Understanding Your Skin Before Makeup

Before choosing foundation or powder, test how your skin absorbs oils and water. Try a few drops of argan or castor oil and see if it absorbs quickly or sits on the surface. Spray rose water and time how long it takes to sink in. Notice if creams absorb or stay on top of the skin. These reactions reveal whether your skin prefers lighter or heavier products. Pore size and even your ethnicity also influence how makeup behaves on your face.

My skin is more ethnic and oily; it is prone to acne and larger pores. This is my routine. I use Heritage Store Hexane Free Organic Castor Oil in glass bottles and Kate Blanc Organic Castor Oil, plus Heritage Store Rose Water (not toner).

My Step by Step Face Routine

  1. Wash your face with a scrub, then a gentle face wash. Follow with a probiotic product from Eminence, then rinse.
    1. Mist your face with Heritage Store Rose Water.
    2. While your skin is damp, apply 2 or 3 drops of castor oil. Spread it gently over your face, under eyes, and neck.
    3. Wait for it to dry and semi absorb.
    4. Apply liquid foundation only to specific spots. Let it sit for a second, then blend.
    5. Lightly dust your entire face with powder to even and set. Add contour, blush, and highlight.
    6. Apply eyeshadow. Follow with eyeliner and mascara.
    7. Fill your lips with lip liner, then apply a hydrating lip balm to soften the finish.
    8. Finish with a light spray of rose water for a natural, fresh glow.

Final Touch

Good makeup starts with knowing your skin. Once you understand how your skin reacts to oils, water, and creams, choosing the right formulas becomes easy, and the result is makeup that looks flawless, feels weightless, and lasts all day.
