Cancer is not always parasites. Yep, I said it. But, they’re definitely a part of the picture. This journey with my father has brought eyes on the fact that nuance is key. Not only that, but the type of cancer makes a massive difference in the treatment plan.
Every cell in the body has DNA that contains instructions for how to grow, divide, and die. There are specific genes called tumor suppressor genes whose job is to put the brakes on cell division and tell cells when to stop growing.
For example, Clear Cell RCC Eosinophilic Variant is driven by mutation or silencing of the VHL gene (Von Hippel Lindau) tumor suppressor gene. This is confirmed by strongly positive CAIX expression on biopsy. When VHL stops working, it can no longer regulate a protein called HIF-2 alpha. HIF-2 alpha activates CAIX and dozens of other genes that tell cells to grow rapidly. Blood vessel formation goes into overdrive feeding the growing tumor. Cells stop receiving the normal signal to die. They divide uncontrollably. Cellular multiplication at an alarming rate is the issue, and that has to be addressed at a genetic level.
However, the immune environment that this process creates is where holistic frameworks have legitimate ground to stand on.
As VHL-driven cancer progresses, it generates a chronically dysregulated immune state. HIF-2 alpha activation alters immune surveillance. The tumor creates a hypoxic, nutrient-disrupted environment that impairs the body’s ability to monitor and clear foreign organisms. The same immune suppression that allows the tumor to escape detection also opens the door to opportunistic parasitic and microbial overgrowth. Immunocompromised cancer patients show measurably higher rates of parasitic burden and secondary infections. So parasite overgrowth could happen alongside genetic or VHL deficient cancer, enabled by the weakened immunity that the cancer itself creates.
The parasite question is not irrelevant, but it is secondary.
Treating parasitic burden will relieve immune load and support overall vitality, but it cannot stop HIF-2 alpha from feeding tumor growth at the genetic level. That is often why anti-parasite drugs or methods won’t work for all types of cancer, especially genetic cancers like this. That has to be addressed at a molecular level through targeted immunotherapy and checkpoint inhibitors.
That said, a holistic approach must be combined with an allopathic approach if the cancer is this extreme. In general that has always been my belief system, that science and nature must walk hand in hand.
Holistic methods that reduce parasitic burden, support immune function, minimize inflammation, and improve metabolic health create a better internal environment for the body to respond to treatment. Allopathic targeted therapy addresses the upstream genetic mechanism that no natural protocol currently reaches. Neither alone is fully sufficient, in my perspective, in a case this advanced. Both together give the patient the strongest possible foundation.
This is just what I have learned in my pursuit for solutions for my father. Whilst trying fully natural, holistic, and now allopathic methods combined with natural. We think that it must be one or the other, but in reality it’s both.
For example, antibiotics have effectiveness for sure; but one must take probiotics at appropriate times with treatment so that there isn’t a complete good bacteria death in the gut. These hand in hand aspects will certainly be the future of medicine. Prevention, of course, being the ultimate goal, but when genes and mutations are involved due time elapsed, genetics or even airplane radiation… we have to be aware of the fullness of wellness.
